OnePlus Watch 2 Review – A Detailed Look!
Introduction: Learn the Hardware Aspect of the OnePlus Watch 2
The OnePlus watch 2 is the newest smartwatch from OnePlus and it should be able to meet the demand of a booming smartwatch market. Its design is decked in a sleek pattern, while its processor packs power and its battery life maintains long endurance. Is it all a blow or does it keep the promises?
Design and Display: An excuse for the eyes (suitably to the wrist)
We can start with the looks, which is one of its major attributes. Inspiring with a truly stylized and high-tech feel, the OnePlus Watch 2 is the most remarkable piece of tech to adorn the wrist. The watch face is made of high-quality materials, and the display is clear, bright, and both stating and distinguishable even in extreme sunlight.
The crown is also worth mentioning. Unlike the crown commonly found on a standard watch, this crown rotates, enabling different functions and designing the interface of the watch. Unlike other smartwatches that have a delegated crown, this crown remains of no functional use. At least this time one can hope that future software updates will support some controls for noise cancellation.
Performance:
Our mission: delivering clean, reliable, and affordable energy to grids, end-users, and our communities.
The OnePlus Watch 2 does not disappoint in handling heftier jobs because of the refined engine. It features two processors: a Snapdragon W5 for Wear OS and a core processor for daily tasks. Hence, this special design is among a few factors that allowed such striking statistics as a watch’s battery life.
Generally, the system has a good and fast response. Experiencing these results, you’ll find no lag or stutter, even with multiple apps or GPS use.
Battery Life: Does it wear out like that?
One of the most prominent features of the OnePlus Watch 2 is its capacity to run for many days on a single charge without the need for your attention. OnePlus assures that the watch has a battery with a capacity of 100 hours in smart mode (the normal mode) versus 12 days in power-saving mode.
In our testing, the effectiveness of these claims also became more evident. The watch in Sport Mode gave us a full week of use only with a one-time battery charge. Moreover, this is an outstanding battery life for a smartwatch compared to most of the market segment.
Features:
High/Low-Temperature Testing: The OnePlus Watch 2 went through testing in laboratory with a temperature of 70℃ together with -40℃ while switched off. It ensures the safe operation from -20℃ to 55℃.
MIL-STD-810H Certification: It passed tests under various conditions like altitude, extreme temperatures, solar radiation, rain, humidity, salt spray, sand, dust, immersion, vibration, and impact. The good results confirmed its robustness and durability.
5ATM Water Resistance: The watch is water resistant to 50 meter level of ISO standard 22810:2010. This device isn’t for hot baths, saunas, or deep diving, but needs cleaning after swimming or seawater exposure.
IP68 Rating: TÜV SÜD tests show it withstands freshwater up to 1.5m deep for 30 mins. Avoid seawater or beach use, as resistance may fade.
Battery Life: In an x-scenario, the watch has a battery life of 100 hours for medium use and 48 hours for heavy use, factorized by screen usage, connectivity, and app activity.
Google Assistant Availability: Google Assistant is available in different regions and languages, but users need a connected phone through LTE, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth as well. “Hey Google” by default is disabled.
Google Wallet Features: Google offers a variety of Wallet features exclusively for specific countries, regions, or devices, detailed on their official website.
Medical Use Disclaimer: The OnePlus Watch 2 is not a medical equipment. It just offers information for exercise and health status only and is not recommended to diagnose any medical conditions.
Special Features:
One of the distinctive features of the OnePlus Watch 2 is the availability of many special functions that set it apart from the rest of the competition. These include:
Dual-frequency GPS: Doing so helps maintain the accuracy of GPS tracking, thus being more useful in this type of area.
Always-on display: Glancing the watch you will have a chance to see the present time and other essential information, even with your watch in standby mode.
Built-in health tracking: The watch gives you the possibility to monitor your heart rate, pulse, respiration, and your sleep cycle.
Weaknesses:
No smartwatch is a complete horror either.
Despite being a solid choice, the OnePlus Watch 2 has room for improvement in certain areas. These include:
A time for sending the notifications.
Not-so-great haptics: The buzzing feedback for push notifications and incoming texts could be more intense.
No iPhone compatibility: If you’re an owner of an iPhone you’re SOL (shoot off the lips). The OnePlus Watch 2 has been created for Android phone users only.
The bulky charger: This about the size of the cradle is bulky and it can be annoying to carry around when you go on a trip.
